Verizon to Offer the iPhone Next Month

I know analysts are predicting that not enough AT&T consumers will defect to make a dent in their annual revenue, but Charles Golvin is right, network reliability and speeds will make the difference. I’m fed up with the dropped calls and the poor reception I get with the AT&T service. That said, until either phone is running on a 4G LTE network, I don’t think I’ll be switching carriers anytime soon either.
I’ll look forward to the unveiling of the iPhone 5 this summer to see how it impacts how either carrier market their network and whether or not it influences how many customers jump off U.S.S. AT&T.
It may be me next year…
Holiday Family Hijinx
Posted: December 29, 2010 Filed under: Family Moments, Random Rambling Leave a comment »With the busy holiday season upon us, sneaking away to blog about anything technology or social media related has been challenging. And perhaps promising to keep up a blog about my son, contributing to Grafik’s blog, AND maintaining this blog has been too much to handle. Having said that, there are a couple of new posts up on E’s blog if you want to check them out.
One post briefly describes our adventure down to Dallas to visit some of my wife’s family for a pre-Christmas gathering. The other post is just a brief collection of pre-Christmas and Christmas videos. What a blast we had this year watching E as he clearly grasped the concept of Christmas, Santa, toys, and opening presents. He has been a joy to behold, and the extra time I’ve had to spend with my family this season as I burned up my remaining leave has been a blessing.
Happy holidays!
Some Fun Moments from the Past Week
Posted: December 14, 2010 Filed under: Random Rambling Leave a comment »Despite both of my fantasy football team’s collapses in the playoffs his week, having a son has opened my eyes to the true priorities in life: love, family, and then football. You can watch a few of the moments that got me through what could have been a traumatic weekend on E’s site.
Honey, I Missed You
Posted: November 20, 2010 Filed under: Random Rambling Leave a comment »After 2 days and 13 hours, (yes, I counted), my wife returned home from her conference in Philadelphia. While I enjoyed being able to watch sports at night without having to suffer through an episode of 19 Kids and Counting or Kate Plus 8, or eating ring bologna and mozeralla sticks for dinner, I missed my wife, and I know Ethan missed his mom.
4 hours later, Match has not wasted any time claiming her rightful spot, curled up next to my wife – the two of them fast asleep.
Welcome home honey. I missed you.
Daddy Blogger?
Posted: November 20, 2010 Filed under: Family Moments, Random Rambling Leave a comment »Lately, I’ve been giving a lot of thought to quitting my day job, selling our house, moving to the Eastern Shore and becoming a daddy blogger so that I could stay home with my son. I haven’t done much research yet to determine if the daddy blogger space is as crowded as the mommy blogger space, but from my experience working with my friends at Baby Stay Asleep, I get the feeling sometimes that moms are the de facto voice out there evaluating kid products, parenting techniques, child rearing tips, etc.
Don’t get me wrong, I think a large majority of the “mommy bloggers” do a great job, but where are the dads? While there may be a handful of men out there doing their part to demonstrate that we men are just as responsible and effective parents as our female counterparts, many of them do not really sound or look like real men’s men. Do they have teams contending in multiple fantasy football leagues? Do they spend a few minutes each day reviewing the different types of balls that are used in various team sports with their kids? Do they even work out? From what I’ve seen, the answer to all of these questions are “no.” That said, there are a lot of regular manly men out there that are great dads. Do they know where to look to find men just like them? Do they know where to look for advice when they’ve been asked to run to Target to pick up more formula for junior? Maybe. Like I said, I haven’t done my research yet.
For now, I will continue to update my son’s blog and daydream about this alternative (and slightly risky) venture. And who knows, with a little research crammed in between updating my fantasy football rosters, I might find something that turns that dream into a reality. For now, you can read about the past few days of parenting my sick child solo while the wife is out-of-town.
Talk About Erratic
Posted: November 6, 2010 Filed under: Random Rambling Leave a comment »Not a bad night, bowling a 153 and 160 with a turkey (3 strikes) in each game, but how I got there was a little erratic. Case in point see the miserable start I had in the second game. Oh well… Was nice to get a night out with the wife sans our son. Forgot what it was like to enjoy a meal out and have fun after 6:30.
Turkey shot and killed. Love it.
